I hosted a small floral arranging afternoon with Jelena of @violafloral (she offers workshops in her Santa Monica studio and private events like this), and we had the best time.

All jokes aside, it ended up being such a cute morning for them. One of the reasons I actually love hotel breakfasts with kids is that they’re surprisingly easy — there’s usually space to wander, things to see, and the staff are so used to little guests. Most of the great hotels already have coloring books, crayons, and kid-friendly options ready to go.

My friend @coconut_mama_ and I had the nicest time catching up, and the Beverly Hills Hotel will always feel like such a special place. 🤍🍋

No one does summer quite like Europe—

It’s a lake town, but with an 18th-century neoclassical villa.
It’s a seafood restaurant, but it’s carved into a cliffside.
It’s a boat ride, but the view is a cascade of pastel homes.

The way people vacation here always feels different. A holiday for many Europeans means easy mornings, longer afternoons, and evenings that stretch well past sunset. The intention seems less about doing and more about enjoying—la dolce far niente, as the Italians say: the sweetness of doing nothing.

Children get to be children, and adults don’t seem fazed by it—little ones hunting for treasures in the piazza while the rest of us do the same in our own way… whether that’s wandering a Provençal bastide turned five-star hotel or lingering over one more glass of wine.

It’s a sensibility I’ve never quite found anywhere else.

Here’s to hoping a villeggiatura is in your future. ✨

New Orleans moved me in ways I didn’t expect.

Our tour guide spoke about the city’s roots — the layers of connection between cultures that existed here long before it became the United States. The way French, Spanish, African, Caribbean, and Indigenous influences blended over generations into something entirely its own — Creole culture at its core — felt like such a powerful reminder of what can happen when histories and humanity intersect.

And in a time when our country feels so heavy and fractured, that story hit me right in the heart.

It reminded me that something more beautiful has always been possible on this land… and it made me feel hopeful that we can find our way back to it again.

Our tour guide spoke about the city’s roots — the layers of connection between cultures that existed here long before it became the United States. The way French, Spanish, African, Caribbean, and Indigenous influences blended over generations into something entirely its own — Creole culture at its core — felt like such a powerful reminder of what can happen when histories and humanity intersect.

And in a time when our country feels so heavy and fractured, that story hit me right in the heart.

My heart is breaking for our country — and so much of the world — right now. In moments like these, I can feel myself slipping into the heaviness… swimming in a sea of mostly unhelpful social media.

And then I try to take my own therapist advice: to come back to myself, and to reconnect in real life.

I think there’s a difference between staying informed and drowning in information — and I know that line looks different for everyone.

What I do know is that being around people who make me feel good about myself… plus the unbeatable combination of pink balloons and cheesy carbs… always reinvigorates my spirit.
