Mama holds a lot more meaning since my first Mother’s Day last May, but I’ve always been eager to celebrate the woman I get to call mom. Motherhood continues to feel so much less than what pop culture portrays it to be, the reality being that despite every mom’s individual ability to create her own magic so much of our success depends on our access to resources. In addition to having family to help regularly and a true partner/co-parent in my husband, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had a great role model of a mother who’s always been so supportive, present and most of all honest about the journey of parenthood.
