California Glam At The Cara Hotel

May 24, 2023

Real live footage of my dream entryway here!!

And I’m one step closer already with the floor tile as my entryway boasts the same contrasting grey marble tiles.

But I am LUSTING for the rest!

One thing my mother and I just love doing in our free time with with Parker in toe, is bopping around town and admiring the bounty of interesting architecture and design Los Angeles has to offer. Living on the westside is lovely, however, we often miss the chance to explore some of the more well established places that truly embody old Hollywood like the storied homes and buildings in Los Feliz.

And the Cara Hotel does a splendid job of representing everything, I at least, would like to see and feel while imagining myself a polarizing film star in her most fun decade, galavanting around tinseltown, giving every man in the business shivers as she forges her own path forward.

And I would have bought this house, or designed one just like it.

It’s a small place with the most stunning entryway that I will have to fight tooth and nail to get my husband to commit to whenever we venture into a new home. Similar to our small entryway now, the checkered marble hits the spot every century and I am beyond obsessed with any shade of grey.

Very quickly we found ourselves in the center courtyard where they have done a wonderful job mixing poolside seating and dinning into a cohesive space for collective Southern California entertaining. I absolutely love the classic wrought iron patio furniture and twinkle lights amongst the olive trees. It’s the perfect amount of al fresco charm to sip your morning latte or dive into a Capri inspired lemon pasta; neither of which I could resist.

After we sipped and sat for a relatively long amount of time considering we had a toddler with us, it was time to get back home and I couldn’t help but think what a beautiful evening awaited future guests under the dusky sky. Definitely a must see on this side of town and forever future home inspo now on the books!
