Lake Como by Boat
Lake Como is a huge wishbone shaped landmark in northern Italy, just below the Swiss border and boasting the most incredible historic villas and charming towns, I could have spent a month here and not seen enough. I will most certainly be returning one day, hopefully sooner than later, and in what seemed too small a time I am beyond grateful I prioritized this outing as it was most certainly a highlight!
The only way to travel
We booked a private sunset tour and a wonderful experience with this company which offers pickups from every port on Como. We had a car rental during our stay but of course boats are best on the lake given how many wonderful places you’ll want to explore during your time here.
Next time I will be sure to book another boat day near Nesso to swim or try to coordinate for a dinner in another town, the possibilities are endless. Ferries also offer wonderful transportation but stop running later in the evening so I perhaps a ferry to another town and dinner, then a private boat transfer from dinner back home would make the most sense! Regardless, you can’t go wrong anytime of day on the water.
Sunset Snacks
I loved that we made this our little dinner on the water with local snacks, Parker devoured his salami topped focaccia from the local bakery and seeing him dance and eat with his eyes closed to Dua Lipa’s Dance the Night was Arthur and I’d absolute highlight of the trip. A memory I will cherish forever!
We attempted some nice family photos and did fairly well given how goofy Parker’s been this trip in photos. And I felt like an absolute Italian movie star in my cream and white ensemble, sipping from my most glorious champagne coupes from Milan, dream made!
