Oh, why hello heaven… I stumbled across this lovely slice of blue and white mastery during my research for my Miami trip. And yes I do research before trips, who doesn’t? It was quite a mystery figuring out where this was until I realized there were not just one, but two SLS hotels in Miami, this one being the newly opened SLS Brickell just 15 minutes away from south beach. It then became my main priority to find this majestic piece of art, and here it is. Appropriately named, Bazaar Mar by José Andrés, opened last November 2016 and as expected by the sea inspired decor features high quality seafood, tapas style. The space was clearly inspired by the Mediterranean seaports, designed by the famous Philippe Starck who has created a number of other hotels and restaurants I admire such as the Mondrian in Los Angeles, SLS Beverly Hills and South Beach, Mama Shelter in Paris, and of course my beloved Katsuya. My absolute favorite detail of the all is the lovely hand painted tiles by Sergio Mora! How absolutely stunning are they? The manager informed me that each team member had a tile made with their face on it in a small collage by the kitchen entrance. So much lovely detail with the marble and bright blues. I could honestly never tire of these walls! And can we talk about THAT BAR! I love the feeling of moving through two distinctly unique spaces that tie so well together and that is exactly how I felt walking into say, the lion’s den as it appears. The lovely gold and black contrast makes my heart sing. And before I forget, some must haves on the menu, the liquid nitrogen caipirinha (an alcohol based slushy), the uni soufflé, the coba ceviche (in a rose shape) and of course the bagel and lox! They also have Andrés’ signature salt air margarita and famous gin and tonic, you should defiantly try out if you haven’t yet! And a continued feast for your eyes, below in design heaven. Enjoy!
Always going back to blues,

Xx, Miami

Thanks to the staff at this place for making our event so enjoyable and if I ever get married. I know where to go! Great job all of you. Price was not too bad, considering the quality of food and beverages. Everything at the venues in NYC was excellent.
