BIRTHDAY LUNCH AT IVY AT THE SHORE

[bigletter]My mother is a New Year’s Day birthday baby, making each January 1st since the age of sixteen dare I say- challenging. But this year I have a baby so suffice to say I was more affected by the mound of mac and cheese my husband made and lack of sleep staying up past midnight the night before this time around.

And fresh off our trip to Palm Springs my mother I snuck out for a little celebratory lunch at the most resort-worthy of destinations in Los Angeles and a favorite of mine, Ivy at the Shore.[/bigletter]

I’ve celebrated many a moments at this special place before and it never disappoints.

I mean how could a place with such details in the restroom alone?

Especially on such a nice day like this with a seat outdoors under the sun!

And the perfect Sunday mix of coffee followed by a tropical cocktail: my mother’s but I couldn’t help snap a pic!

Crab cakes, biscuits and the best jidori chicken and frites.

Everything in this environment is likely to taste good but I always recommend two things off the menu that I ventured from today following the heaviest New Year’s Eve meal the night before: ivy gimlets and the lobster pasta.

It’s to die for, treat yourself!

Of course desert wasn’t optional for the birthday girl herself so we split the sundae and called it a day.

A fabulous little lunch to celebrate the new year and one more trip around the sun, under it too. Xx
