CHIC PLACES: LOVESHACKFANCY ON MELROSE PLACE

[bigletter]Well as the pandemic continues on through summer so does my seemingly little but now big outings to anywhere possible that isn’t home. And now more than ever I continue to appreciate having a cozy place to come back to, one where I can opt in or sometimes out of spending time solely with my husband, but even more so gratitude for living in a city that is a recreational destination for so many. I like to describe Los Angeles as a bunch of small suburbs lined up next to each other, all unique with their own city centers, offering up something a bit different from one to the next. Whether you’re in the mood for something beachy, upscale or artsy, it’s all here with perfect weather, a luxury I am learning to greatly re-appreciate since my arrival nine years ago![/bigletter]

As always, I am continuing to seek new spots to enjoy, old hangouts I hope aren’t ruined by the state of affairs and of course share it all here on this blog. And since my mother has recently started to call LA her new home, I can’t help but take her along for the ride too, as she is perhaps the one who helped develop my adventurous spirit!

She is also slowly, but surely, improving her photography skills. A cherished gift I just can’t say no to!

One of the many wonderful spots she has since been indoctrinated into is the quaint, understated but extremely elegant retail shopping destination I love, Melrose Place.

During our last two visits, we noticed a pretty pink structure, adorned with pink garden roses that could easily pass for a miniature château fit for a shabby chic princess, or Lisa Vanderpump’s small horses. A beyond fitting abode for the newest LoveShackFancy shop, a brand most beloved by so many grand millennials, myself included.

The flower frame reminds me a bit of my wedding arch, full of garden charm and summer magic. Of course we weren’t the only ones drooling over the facade masterpiece, a perfectly positioned slice of Insta heaven.

And although my mother and I are continuing to avoid heading inside stores for the most part, we couldn’t help but peak into one of the shutter bearing windows, awing at the most delectable selection of peasant chic garments, fit for all carefree occasions. The design of the store from my very humble view, reminded me of my younger self’s tea party fantasy, in which any item inside would be more than appropriate for.

It’s safe to say both my mother and I will be filled to the brim with joy once we get the chance to frequent stores again. This one high on the list, as will the many other lovely shops on this small tree-lined street. But until then, window shopping here and the many other swoon worthy spots will just have to do.
