Fashion week in NYC just commenced and of course I wasn’t there but it was such a fun thing to watch over the last few days following influencers on Instagram bounce from show to show and share such beautiful content. I loved searching through all the stunning looks on Vogue Runway, which if you aren’t familiar replaced Style.com and is the one stop shop for every season’s looks. You can either download their app or go straight to Vogue’s website and it has everything. I have always gone from hot and cold when it comes to runway shows and fashion week. On one hand I am absolutely obsessed with everything, the excitement around something new, the absolutely groundbreaking creativity some of these designers are capable of. But then some seasons I am just not that into it, mostly for two reasons. High end fashion can often feel a bit unrelateable; I am all for the creativity and the message, but I still want to imagine wearing a piece, even if it’s in a dreamy place that doesn’t exist. I also think it’s sometimes hard to get excited for a season we are just now getting over. Right now it’s September, barely a degree below 75 in Los Angeles, and all I want is a big cozy sweater. But since fashion moves so quickly, the shows in September are always for next Spring, and vice versa in January. But the one major game changer for me is always that one show, that one look, that one designer who just inspires me and reminds me again why I love fashion so much. This year I would have to say it was Giambattista Valli, with all his dramatic evening gowns with such detailed work. I also lived for Carolina Herrera’s white mesh angelic gown, two images below and Brandon Maxwell’s acrylic champagne bottle bag with a side scarf! Must have immediately!!!! Enjoy!
