NO DECAF, NO DOUBT

To say I love my coffee is quite the understatement. It’s essentially what fuels my soul, a precious delicacy I could never live without, getting me excited to start the day.

As I often say, there’s no problem a workout and cup of coffee can’t solve.

With that said, brewing inspiration each morning {aka making coffee} is part of my daily routine and on extra special days, my afternoon one too. Especially during this time being stuck at home, when heading to my local coffee shop isn’t as simple an outing as it used to be!

Typically I start my day with a cup of black coffee, with no sugar or milk, setting the bar pretty high for the beans I use in my espresso machine. And on very special mornings and a select few afternoons, I love my vanilla almond milk lattes more than anything.

Fortunately, today was one of those special days.

A friend of mine recently sent me over a bag of goodies to try out from his new coffee subscription service, most poignantly named, NO DECAF ALLOWED. So after drooling over the sleek and personalized packaging, I decided to try out the coffee selected just for me.

Luckily, today was a vanilla almond latte day.

This roast was described as rich, chocolatey, smooth and on the darker side. And it was delicious!

They truly got me. And my latte.

And it’s no surprise that they can do it for you too. The more you try, the more they learn your coffee preferences, predicting what you’d enjoy in your next bag, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.

This particular roast, delicious on it’s own as freshly brewed black coffee, happened to also complement my espresso drink this morning extremely well. It’s a fairly simple drink to make, even for those of us with the most minimal barista skill!

MONICA’S VANILLA ALMOND LATTE

Ingredients: Almond milk, agave sweetener, NO DECAF ALLOWED coffee beans, cinnamon sticks and cinnamon spice.

STEP ONE: Fill the machine with NO DECAFF beans if you haven’t already!

STEP TWO: Add agave sweetener to mug, I typically do between 1/2 and 1 tablespoon.

STEP THREE: Add a single shot of espresso, or two, into the mug with sweetener.

STEP FOUR: In a frothing pitcher, or wide mouth Mason jar, slowly steam the almond milk, about a cup. Immediately pour right into espresso filled mug.

STEP FIVE: Sprinkle some cinnamon spice on top, stir with a cinnamon stick and drop in for extra flavor.

Enjoy leisurely, hopefully with some fresh air and a furry friend if possible!
