SUNSET SPRITZING IN THE PALISADES

[bigletter]Ciao ciao, cin cin, we are spritz-ing in the Pacific Palisades!

As you know my love for all things Italia have only grown stronger since living abroad in Verona and returning back with Arthur to Positano and Capri. As eager as I am to continue eating my way through Italy I am more than grateful for the chance to keep my Aperol infused spirits alive and well with yet another Italian restaurant that certainly tops the chart.[/bigletter]

Angelini is a well established eatery located farther in east in Los Angeles that fortunately made the smart decision to expand west of the 405 all the way into the town above the sea near me, the Pacific Palisades.

Brentwood has almost ten+ places to pasta, the neighboring Pacific Palisades has around half that with the quaint Palisades Village now gaining a second Italian eatery.

It’s always a high bar given the competition for delectable pasta and good wine but suffice to say I was very much impressed! As was my friend Brooke who joined for a little evening sunset and spritz before Parker’s bathtime.

The Angelini spritz came highly recommended by our waiter and I’ll admit I was skeptical given I’ve never met a spritz I didn’t like, however I have met ones that are too syrupy and sweet. So I was pleasantly surprised as this one veers slightly from the original recipe I religiously sipped every afternoon in Verona, but in all good ways. It’s a bit lighter, more voluminous which I love and the reason I always order cocktails in general over ice in a wine glass.

But the edible flowers was perhaps most significant to me!

And in addition to our fancy apperivo and the most delicious bread basket, we ordered the most delicious tuna tartare I’ve ever had. Like the spritz it veered off the beaten path with pistachio crumbles.

Of course I couldn’t wait to spin my fork amongst their signature creamy lemon pasta and pretend for a moment that I was under a lemon tree on Capri. It was absolutely outstanding and a must get on the menu.

Brooke loved her penne in some kind of pink sauce and I loved hearing all her upcoming wedding details while simultaneously shoving my face with this insanely delicious pasta.

All the while we lounged in the last of the day’s sun, not to rival that of a true piazza at 5pm, but I felt so fortunate to live where others equally obsess over the most delectable carb created yet!

Buon Aperitvo!
