THE “M” LIST: NOVEMBER

{ photo by Sandy Leshner }

And then it was November… Wow, time flies! Here’s what’s on my mind this month, please excuse the delay, I’m already catching the holiday bug. Fun fact, the location I took this photo at was also where they filmed Rory’s school in Gilmore Girls.

1. Ladurée in LA!

Not one, but two locations are underway at the Grove in West Hollywood and on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Ladurée is an internationally recognized pâtisserie as the highest standard for luxury macarons. It’s about time Los Angeles gets some Parisian influence, and in the most lovely of ways. Can you imagine the Instagrams? I’m hoping at least one of the locations has a restaurant service in addition to the delectable pastries.

2. The Holiday Season

It really is the most wonderful time of the year, with Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Christmas, New Years and Valentine’s Day on the horizon. It’s a tangible buzz that unties everyone and that’s why I love this time of year. All of the pretty lights, yummy food and celebration with family and friends just puts most people in festive mood and the lucky ones, blessed for all the good fortune in life. I also plan to go all out with the usual Chrismakuh celebration because Hanukah and Christmas actually coincide this year, what a miracle. I can’t wait to eat potato pancakes and drink hot chocolate with whip cream and 500+ calories. I also can’t wait to show you all the gift guides I’ve been creating since September, coming soon!

3. Truffle Season

Yes, that is a real thing. In fact Town and Country did a wonderful piece on some of the unknowns about truffles, one of which being that truffle season spans from the end of October to the end of November. So it’s just another reason to continue my slight obsession and eat that pasta!

4. Gilmore Girls Revival

This one’s self-explanatory; on Friday, November 25th, I will likely be taking off work to binge watch this all day. Just kidding, but I will most certainly NOT be going out. This will be the cherry on top of the fall season and how perfect a time to get an update on the most charismatic mother daughter duo New England has ever seen. I can’t wait to see what Star’s Hallow residents are up to, who Lorelei’s dating and what Emily Gilmore thinks of Real Housewives and Instagram. Netflix really captured something brilliant in giving us all access to the television personas we’ve cherished from our past and making them relevant again. I love the idea that in the future may have more ‘check-ins’ with characters who would otherwise remain a forever piece of static nostalgia. The only thing that could make this better is if my mother were here to watch it with me like old times, perhaps I will throw a little viewing party with friends, b
ring on the pizza and champs!

5. Redecorating my Living Room

Let’s call it the living room project. I have lived in the same apartment for five years and have been wanting to change it up for a while now. For someone like me who is a creature of habit I take changing decor quite seriously! It’s been a long time coming and without giving away too much too soon, I am starting with a blue and white color scheme and some gold accents. More to come on this #livingroomproject in future posts!

Happy Saturday!
