LIMONCELLO SPRITZ RECIPE

[bigletter]While we’re all quite familiar with the summer cocktail of cocktails, the aperol spritz, I was delighted to find a way to actually enjoy another one of Italy’s top spirits come summer in a more digestible way. Limoncello was first introduced to me at the end of long dinners while living in Italy in a strikingly strong shot format. Pungent to say the least! However, since then I’ve been loving my lemon infused French 75s (which I always order with ice in a wine glass) and I figured perhaps there was a way to dim down the limoncello into a refreshing cocktail of sorts. Of course it didn’t take much digging to find exactly that and hence I decided to try out this recipe from Williams Sonoma which, spoiler alert, I loved![/bigletter]

Limoncello Spritz Recipe from Williams Sonoma

ice cubes

2 fl. oz. (2 shots) of limoncello

1/2 fl. oz. of ginger beer

1/4 fl. oz. of fresh lemon juice

1/2 fl. oz. soda water

3 fl. oz. of Prosecco

fresh mint to garnish

Add everything but the ice and garnish together in a wine glass, I like to add ice last and lots of it! Keep in mind the limoncello is much stronger than most liqueurs like aperol so you might want to try one shot first and add the second after you’ve taste tested! I added dried blood orange slices instead of lemons but to each their own! Enjoy responsibly. Xx
