MY FAVORITE 5 SPOTS TO SHOP BABY

[bigletter]Of all the many joys of being a new mom styling Parker has most certainly ranked high up there along with receiving the most infectious smiles these last few weeks. My heart skips a beat seeing him look into my eyes and pull those chubby cheeks up, leading me to wonder if he’s falling in love with me or happy to pass gas.

Either way, I’ll take the love!

From day one of my pregnancy I knew my time playing Rachel Zoe would be relatively short considering most kids don’t exactly enjoy taking fashion advice from their moms past 3 years old and perhaps he won’t want to match me when he’s 13?

So I’m milking this time as much as possible, pun intended.

Here are some of my favorite places so far to find cute stuff for this little man![/bigletter]

Masionette

This is perhaps the most “shopable” e-commerce site I’ve found so far that perfectly balances style and user friendliness. They have everything perfectly setup, kind of like Net-A-Porter or Moda Operandi for children. It’s where you will find more upscale clothing, toys and other kid related products online and have fun doing it. The site is easy to navigate and I always find something cute. I won’t be buying all of Parker’s clothing here because it’s pricer but I definitely will be buying most of his toys here because they seem to be better quality. I also love this spot for gifts I’m sending via mail and discovering new and chic baby brands. I also LOVE the Mommy and Me shop they have with tons of matching options for moms and littles.

Gap

The GAP will always represent quality American basics that are reasonably priced and for the most part the same goes for Old Navy. It’s also the perfect place for Parker’s daily wardrobe with a wide selection of classic stripes, polos and every shade of blue making this my one stop shop. Currently Parker doesn’t wear much clothing at home but when he does go somewhere I love using the selection of thin knitwear and nautical inspired color palettes I’ve stockpiled for him. We don’t share any real identical outfits outside of these adorable sweaters but I love to color coordinate with him in blues or go all out with a statement earring to match this limoncello pajama I found at Old Navy!

Janie and Jack

I consider Janie and Jack to be somewhat of the Nordstrom for kids clothing. It’s not cheap but always chic! Awesome quality and an aesthetic I can get behind with reliably preppy options for my little man that many retailers miss the mark on. They also have lots of stuff on sale which is always awesome. I’ve also had a lot of luck buying their clothing new with tags from Ebay and Poshmark too, when I search the NWT (new with tags) terms on any item I’m looking for. However, most of the pricing on secondhand sites for brand new items aren’t too far discounted from buying directly considering shipping, but they have styles that I love that might be from previous seasons when I didn’t have a baby!

Minnow Swim

I am so happy I found this lovely swimwear brand for babies and kiddos after having followed it’s founder Morgan Smith on Instagram for quite some time prior to having a baby of my own! Naturally I had to order Parker his first pair of swim trunks before really considering when he’d actually take his first dip into to the water, but who actually goes in at the pool or beach anyway! The cuts, colors and prints are so perfectly bright and fun that I’d imagine I will be purchasing from here for until Parker’s ready for men’s sizing. Hoping to check out their brick and mortar store in the adorable Lido Marina Village next time I get to the OC.

Poppy Store

This local shop is always my top choice for last minute in person gift for kiddos, located nearby at The Brentwood Country Mart, where you can find me almost all the time without fail. It’s an adorable small children’s boutique with lots of high end brands you might not find as easily in major retailers. The baby selection hasn’t been as large for boy’s clothing as it seems for girls but what they do have is all wonderfully made and timeless. So many of my friends brought gifts from there when first meeting Parker and I’ve loved each an every item so far.
