I love small towns… And I have been meaning to check out Solvang, a quaint little Dutch town, for quite some time. Last week my mother was in town for the holidays and so we took a small trip up to Santa Barbara and made a quick stop as it’s only 45 minutes northeast of Santa Barbara, before heading to my favorite place in MontecitoWe didn’t have too much time so we literally just walked up and down the main city street off Copenhagen Drive, after getting some recommendations from the very friendly concierge at the The Landsby Hotel, which I would highly suggest looking into if you plan to stay for a bit. The town itself is fairly small and would make a great day trip if you’re staying in Santa Ynez or Santa Barbara. My mom and I only spent a couple hours there, but to be honest I don’t think we needed much more time to get the gist.

As you can see from the pictures Solvang is super charming and has a ton of bakeries! I couldn’t handle all the sweets but naturally my mother and I wanted to try everything. So we literally bought every pastry we were interested in and took just one bite of them all. This my friends is how you manage FOMO and get a sugar induced headache! I unfortunately still have so many leftovers in my apartment. But I had to have my cinnamon roll… It was so good. We also managed to buy cheese bread, a cheese danish (obviously)a slab of fudge, and a selection of petit fours for my sister; whose bedroom looks like the inside of a Tiffany box, no joke (pictured below) . How adorable? Aside from all the sweets, the town was very charming to walk around with so many cute gift shops and adorable architecture. I wish we had more time to browse and try some of the restaurants and wine tasting rooms. I also heard there are some ostrich farms nearby? I feel like that would strangely be up my alley, haha. Until next time!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday, hello 2017!

Cheers or better yet, PROOST!
