A BOW-MANTIC TABLE FOR DEUX

[bigletter]Take a seat, lover.

Is it too early for pastels? I get we are all on board with pink, but you know I loathe red outside the confines of coral and it’s neighboring communities. Sometimes even pink can get aggressive, especially around Valentine’s Day so excuse me for wanting to soften the bow. And after my epiphany that pale green could be spooky I’ve decided traditional color palettes be damned, anything is amenable to what you love.

And I just loveeeee my candy colors. Hence the Spring inspired floral arrangement I’m still impressed with. The height in particular being a new feat for this absolutely amateur florist over here and the perfect compliment to the floral china from my mother-in-law.

The inspiration all from one idea and one idea only, a little invitation place card, sealed with a bow.[/bigletter]

Isn’t it just bow-mantic?

My husband actually enjoyed it, come to think of it how first response was, oh is that a love letter to me? Unfortunately, I am not the bow-mantic {sorry I can’t help myself} I thought I was but WHAT A NICE TOUCH that would be?!

I think my girlfriends would love it too. A sweet little nod to our friendship to get us through February. And that is perhaps why I’ve opted for the annual Valentine via snail mail over the common holiday card after failing to send one on time years and years ago. Since then it’s been routine to give everyone I love a little excitement in the post holiday lull, especially for my east coast counterparts!

But back to my Valentine {the one not taking consistent naps} he did a wonderful job attempting French pastry chef extraordinaire with his first go round at a croquembouche, which in his defense was perfect outside the burnt caramel and vegan butter I supllied him. We used this recipe if you want to take a shot at it, just don’t overboil the sugar water which is apparently what caramel is made of?

Topped with a bow made it suddenly all better?

After my husband declared it inedible, he still found a way to eat some of it. And the cherries too.

I found solace in my chocolate covered espresso beans and the spicy tuna on crispy rice we ordered in after Parker went down, the last part of the day we get together, just me and you.
