COFFEE AT THE MAYBOURNE, BEVERLY HILLS

[bigletter]Think London pink meets Beverly Hills chic. Formerly known as The Montage Beverly Hills, is now The Maybourne. But regardless it’s a property worth visiting despite the brand or namesake. An impressive hotel with Mediterranean features commonly recreated in Southern California like the round arches, red tile and terra cotta exterior, I do find it odd that they imagined a British themed interior but whatever. Similar to the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, this property will always be prime and is worth visiting just for that alone. Adjacent to Rodeo drive, nestled right along the European inspired Beverly Canon Gardens you’d be a fool not to take a look around and enjoy coffee, tea or a full fledged meal in this beautiful space![/bigletter]

When I first arrived in LA the main restaurant was a second iteration of Scarpetta from New York, before eventually getting a huge renovation into Georgie, the origin of the beautiful pink floral tiles that fortunately remain inside the stunning coffee bar I had the pleasure of spending my afternoon inside. In fact I have often made brief stops here to do work before a dinner date with friends in Beverly Hills in between my former office and home. And today was no exception as I waited for my mother before dinner.

The space is colorful and warm, a perfect place for drinks and even a small bite to eat. I of course couldn’t resist a pastry to go with my latte as I typed away noticing the interesting influx of people all here for various reasons ranging from formal business oriented meetings to creatives looking for a bright place to work and hotel guests lounging before their dinner plans I imagine.

And here I was doing exactly just that, happy to be creative in such a lovely little spot. The caffeine didn’t hurt either!
