[bigletter]I may have just found new favorite restaurant; which in LA is near impossible for me because I’ve been almost everywhere over the last decade here and have garnered a well established set of places I love with absolutely no intention of budging on! But this new gem, called Violet, might just be the little bistro that could seeing as I found a way to not just go once, but now twice in the same week straight. Luckily it’s nearby and was as perfect for date night with my boys as it was ladies night with my mother. It would also make the most perfect spot for an intimate dinner party upstairs or fabulous soirée in the courtyard. I’ve already sent a video of the space to several people looking at party venues and my mother who {almost} seriously considered having her pup’s birthday here![/bigletter]

So aside from my rant of excitement I will get down to the details.

It’s French, of course.

It’s a cooking school in addition to a restaurant offering private classes for non-students and various culinary lessons you can purchase tickets to.

It’s in Westwood Village, just in between Brentwood and Beverly Hills.

It’s got a GORGEOUS bar, multiple vegan options and an menu that seems to shift with what’s in season.

It’s only worth sitting in the courtyard or at the bar in my humble opinion!

And it’s called, Violet!

This place has been on my list since the pandemic but I just finally made it for a little night out with the family. I knew from the photos this place was cute, but I was not prepared for the overwhelming charm I was immediately immersed in upon arrival!

And fortunately the food matched the vibe!

Arthur devoured his cauliflower entrée, I loved the French onion soup and niçoise salad that was as beautiful as it was yummy, we all loved the regular French fries, however, I can’t imagine the truffle ones disappointing in any way. My mother was so happy to see trout finally on a menu and on both evenings members of my party ordered the chocolate mouse dessert {available vegan} which I was not upset about!

Parker tried everything as he now has positioned himself as official taste tester and suffice to say he approved.

The cocktails all looked so refreshing, especially the margarita, but I was loyal to my French 75 cocktail over ice, in a wine glass the first night and went out on a limb to try the vitamin v which is aperol sprtiz like with twist. Both were delicious and provided the European summer vibe I was looking for!

Will most certainly be back, maybe even within the week!
