ST. TROPEZ INSPIRED CRUDITÉS AND ROSÉ

[bigletter]Our rooftop space was completed just time for the sun to finally make it’s way back to Los Angeles like a toxic ex-boyfriend and alas we had our first opportunity to entertain just in time for the 4th of July holiday.

I’ll admit I’m not feeling so patriotic lately given the state of our country but I’ll never ignore a chance to gather, or take it for granted after the pandemic, most certainly when the stars align for some al fresco summer fun.

When designing this space my most significant contribution was the addition of a pergola, an ivy covered structure intended to block just enough sunshine to enjoy it on a nice day. And after pulling out my blue and white tablecloth I couldn’t help but be reminded of our afternoon at the uber chic club 55 in St. Tropez, where the French have essentially mastered the art of elegant beach-going if you will.

So I beelined for the refrigerator and pulled out whatever selection of vegetables would look most appetizing following a dip in the water on French Riviera, complimenting well with an icy brut rosé à la piscine (aka, champs over ice)! It went well with a garlic dip we love for everything, but hummus is great too. It also just makes for a nice summer centerpiece and is a great alternative to bread and cheese during the warmer months, however, let the record reflect that I will never turn down a cheese board when offered.

Alas our little summery setup served as a great appetizer to the holiday weekend and we are excited for more rooftop parties year round. There will most certainly be more to come.

Enjoy![/bigletter]
